Hungary"s market leading carsharing company Avalon is opening four new carsharing points in the country"s capital, the company announced on September 16.
Avalon is now operating five sharing points. Avalon"s scheme, entitled CareSharing, provides an innovative solution for the environmental and traffic issues encountered in large European cities. Clients can pick up a car from any of the five sharing points and return the car, when they do not need it anymore. The service has daily, monthly and also annually fee options for both private (Avalon Publicare) and corporate (CarSharing) customers. Typical fees can work out cheaper than a rental. For example, according to their website, once you pay a HUF 10,000 registration fee and a monthly fee of HUF 1,300, using a car costs HUF 170 for an hour. In the long run, Avalon is planning to enter the Budapest Stock Exchange in 2018. The car sharing service based in the concept of hiring cars was launched in 1999 by two friends. Today, the service coordinates more than a hundred car hires a month.
